Jason Shooster is an American guitarist, composer, and traveler. Having visited over 70 countries on 5 continents, he is constantly inspired by the variety of creative expression the world has to offer. Growing up, he was exposed to the fusion, world, jazz and pop genres, planting the seed of a well-grounded player. Those roots would grow when, at the age of 15, Jason began listening to and exploring the music of Django Reinhardt – “the father of gypsy jazz”. Django’s unmatched and spirited playing enthralled Jason and motivated him to inject his own music with similar vigor. With his understanding and love for the sounds of the past and present, Jason has developed a distinctive playing style.

Jason has recorded and shared the stage with some of the world’s finest musicians and groups including:

Jimmy Rosenberg, Angelo Debarre, George Tandy, Tchavolo Schmitt, Mitch Friedman, Geoffrey Perry, Michael Ward-Bergeman, Ivan Neville’s Dumpstaphunk, Dorothy and Alex Martirano, Lennie Kesl, Dopapod, Papadosio, Big Gigantic, J2K, Reso Kiknadze, Nyle and the Naysayers, Josh Hoffenberg, John Taney, Marcpaperscissor, Mitch Friedman, and Sassafraz.
